Speech Therapist (Licensed)

Location: DeLand, FL
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Description:
The Sands Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Speech Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in DeLand, FL. The ideal candidate will work closely with students to assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders. This role involves providing personalized therapy services to children and young adults to help them overcome speech and language challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech and language assessments for students.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each student's needs.

  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor progress.

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed Speech Therapist in Florida.

  • Experience working with children preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Occupational Therapist (Licensed)

Location: DeLand, FL
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Description:
The Sands Academy is seeking an experienced Licensed Occupational Therapist to support students with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities in DeLand, FL. You will assess and design intervention programs that focus on enhancing students' abilities to perform daily tasks and participate fully in school activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans to address specific student needs.

  • Provide therapy and adaptive techniques to improve fine and gross motor skills.

  • Work collaboratively with educators and parents to create a supportive learning environment.

  • Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license in Florida.

  • Previous experience working with children is preferred.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with students effectively.

5th/6th grade Teacher

Location: DeLand, FL

Monday-Thursday 8:15-5:00pm, Friday 9:00-1:00pm

Description:
The Sands Academy is seeking a creative, compassionate, and motivated part-time 5th/6th Grade Teacher to join our neuroinclusive hybrid school in DeLand, FL. This educator will be responsible for leading small group instruction in core subjects—especially Math, ELA, and Science—while supporting students’ individual learning styles in a collaborative, play-based environment.

If you’re passionate about differentiated instruction, hands-on learning, and empowering diverse learners, we’d love to meet you!

Responsibilities:

  • Teach core academic subjects to a small 5th/6th grade class 

  • Integrate movement, visuals, and gamified learning into lessons

  • Collaborate with other educators to support each student’s individual learning plan

  • Foster a safe, inclusive classroom community built on respect and emotional regulation

  • Communicate regularly with parents and leadership about student progress

  • Participate in occasional staff meetings and training sessions

Requirements:

  • Prior teaching experience (formal or homeschool settings welcome)

  • Strong understanding of upper elementary content, especially in Math and ELA

  • Passion for neuroinclusive, relationship-centered education

  • Flexibility, patience, and creativity in working with diverse learners

  • Bachelor’s degree (education or related field)

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with play-based or project-based learning

  • Background in special education, tutoring, or behavioral support

  • Familiarity with UFLI, structured literacy, or hands-on science
